Three Mt. Lebanon graduates named 2026 Great Alumni Award recipients

Three Mt. Lebanon High School graduates whose careers have made an impact in their professions and communities have been selected as recipients of the school’s 2026 Great Alumni Award.

Carolyn Additon Anthony, Class of 1967; Dr. John Christopher Graybill, Class of 1997; and Doyle Stevick, Class of 1988, will be honored at a luncheon Oct. 2 and recognized that evening during Mt. Lebanon’s home football game.

The Great Alumni Award, established in 2004 as a project of the Mt. Lebanon High School Student Council, recognizes graduates for exceptional professional achievement, community service, volunteer work or efforts to improve the lives of others. Students participate in researching and recognizing the honorees.

Anthony spent 31 years as director of the Skokie Public Library in Illinois, where she worked to expand access to library resources and programming. She co-founded the Skokie Festival of Cultures and introduced programs ranging from teen mentorship and employment assistance to multilingual and accessible library resources. Under her leadership, the library received the National Medal for Museum and Library Service in 2008.

Graybill recently retired from active duty after more than 21 years with the U.S. Army Medical Corps. A trauma surgeon, he deployed six times to locations including Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Honduras and Chad. He now serves as a trauma, burn, critical care and acute care surgeon at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore.

Stevick is director of the Anne Frank Center and an associate professor at the University of South Carolina. His work focuses on Holocaust and civic education and the role schools can play in combating hatred and extremism. A two-time Fulbright Scholar, Stevick has co-authored six books and presented his work on four continents. Since 2018, the Anne Frank Center has expanded its educational programming to 25 states and brought traveling exhibitions to 45 states.

The three honorees join a group of Mt. Lebanon graduates recognized through the program for sustained achievement and contributions extending beyond their professions and immediate communities.
