Meet Ward 4 Commissioner-elect Nick Petti

Public service, safe streets and green spaces top agenda for Mt. Lebanon’s newest commissioner

Commissioner-elect Nick Petti and his wife, Bridget, moved to Mt. Lebanon 24 years ago. Petti holds a master’s degree in social work from Boston University and has worked for more than 20 years as a licensed social worker with a primary focus on geriatrics and hospice care. They are the parents of two children and Stella, their therapy dog, who you might find volunteering with Petti at “Tail Waggin’ Tutors” at the Mt. Lebanon Library.

Commissioner-elect Petti shared that his entire career has been focused on service to others, so running for office was a natural extension of that calling. He said he feels strongly about giving back to his community. He knocked on an impressive 421 doors while campaigning and found that, in general, residents love living in Mt. Lebanon.

Commissioner-elect Petti shared three of his priorities:

  • Parks and recreation spaces: Preserving parks, improving recreational spaces and supporting recreational activities through conservation and community-driven efforts.
  • Achieving and maintaining walkable communities: Improving pedestrian access throughout Mt. Lebanon and creating safer pathways that promote a healthier, more connected community.
  • Public safety partnership: Petti said he will champion public safety partnerships connecting residents to essential social services, fostering a safe community where everyone can thrive.

Commissioner-elect Petti will be sworn in on Jan. 6, 2026.
